A Day in First Grade
We are super busy in first grade but we manage to have fun. During language Arts we are busy having guided reading groups, centers included today were:
- We finished writing about El dia de Los Muertos
- We included science writing facts and observations of our box turtle. We will wait for our next pet to arrive. (turantula)

- Silent Reading
- Journal Writing
- Students in Guided Reading answer in their reading response. They are writing summaries and making predictions.
Student is busy completing patterns of Dia de Los Muertos. Tying in math with social studies.
Students have an opportunity to work on the floor with clip boards. A change of working conditions is always welcomed.
Students have an opportunity to read from the library. They can sit on the rug and relax while they read.
Students are busy working on reading comprehension. They were summarizing a chapter they were reading and making predictions of the next chapter.
Students just love taking photos.
Look at how hard student concentrate at writing. They try hard to do their best work.
Look at this student! He is busy showing the class the strategy he used to work out the problem. Students use the document camera to show other how it is done.
Students are busy working with shapes and making other shapes. They used triangles, squares, trapezoids, hexagons.
