Winter Wonderland Bulletin Board

Well I didn't have to tutor today and i decided to put take down my old bulletin board and all the fall things and put new paper down for December.  Once I applied the border.  I started thinking about making connections to everything we were reading and writing about.  I love winter and the holidays and by the time I knew it i got carried away.  You can see our class in this magical scene.  Children are on trees, teachers on the slopes and children throwing snow balls.  I hope you enjoy the scene.  I am not an artist but it sure was fun!

We read several books this week about snow and snow globes.  The children made personal connections and wrote what they felt it would be like to live in a snow globe.  This gave me the ideas to take pictures of the children to make our own snow globes.  Look at the children's snow globes below.
  1. The children painted their pictures on card stock blue paper.
  2. They let the painting dry and applied glue to the snow and put white glitter on it which gave it a special effect.
  3.  They glue the base and the sphere to the red paper and applied their name to the picture.
  4. The writing section will follow soon.
